Dear member,
It would be difficult to overlook the fact that the number of children who have been and continue to experience some form of home education has increased significantly over the past 18 months. This has meant that the demands on Education Otherwise have increased in direct proportion. As a direct consequence we are reaching out to our membership for new trustees.
When all is said and done, Education Otherwise represents its members and strongly defends the legal right of all parents and guardians to home educate their child.
In addition to having responsibility for the overall development of the Charity, as a trustee you would be expected to take onboard a task appropriate to the time you are able to allocate; attend trustees’ meetings (presently occurring every four to six weeks – by Zoom) and when appropriate represent the Charity.
Education Otherwise is looking for trustees who are independently minded; can offer a range of professional skills and competencies; believe in the right to choose within the boundaries set out in statute.
